Campus Activities and Programs Coronavirus FAQs
Updated 9/4/2020

In keeping consistent with the University’s response and state mandates to the COVID-19 virus concerns, the Campus Activities and Programs office will be open in the fall semester.

Is the CAP office open?
Yes, the CAP office is now open on Monday through Friday from 8:00am until 5:00pm. CAP staff will be in the office on a rotating schedule to adhere to social distancing guidelines and we ask that students make an appointment prior to coming into the office.

We will also be offering Virtual Drop-In Hours starting the week of August 17 on Zoom. These hours will be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:00am – 12:00pm and on Thursday from 12:00pm-1:30pm. Zoom meeting ID is 485 336 8024 and the passcode is CAP2020.

How do I turn in travel, reimbursements, or other forms?
Please email Corey at cepotts@uncg.edu and she will give you further information on the necessary steps to turn in paperwork. Many processes have been moved to a virtual format so please reach out to Corey prior to coming into the office.

Will my student group be able to hold in-person meetings and events this semester?
We are strongly encouraging all groups to look into virtual options for their meetings and events. As of 9/1/2020, in-person student group programs and meetings are not permitted. If this changes, we will update groups as needed. Student groups will not be permitted to table at this time.

How do I get my student group event or meeting approved?
Student groups will need to submit their events on Spartan Connect as per our usual policy. However, changes to that policy are as follows: virtual events need to be submitted in Spartan Connect at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the event. Virtual weekly meetings do not need to be submitted in Spartan Connect but we strongly encourage you to do so if the meeting is open to new/interested members.

Can my planned new member education/initiation/induction still take place?
We are strongly encouraging all groups to look into virtual options for their meetings and events. As of 9/1/2020, in-person student group programs and meetings are not permitted.

Can my student group travel for conferences and group related events?
No, University Travel is currently suspended until further notice. At this point, SGA will not be allocating funds for travel requests until we have more direction from the University.

If I need to get in contact with someone from CAP, how should I do that?
We will be checking our capso@uncg.edu account regularly. You can also text us at 336-541-6202 and we will respond between 8am and 5pm, Monday through Friday. Please give us 24 hours to respond.
