FAQs

  • Can my student group meet in person?
    • At this time, all in-person meetings, events, and programs are cancelled. We recommend that you continue to meet via platforms such as Zoom.
  • How can I recruit new members virtually?
    • It’s going to take some creativity. Meeting prospective members where they are, on social media, is one of the easiest ways to recruit. Create a social media presence for your group and use it to advertise. Also, Spartan Connect is a great resource. Consider creating a news post to spread the word about your next interest meeting.
  • How can I get Zoom premium account to hold longer meetings?
    • All students can access Zoom premium features such as cloud recording and longer meeting times by logging into Zoom using Single Sign on (SSO).
  • The members in my group are unmotivated, what should I do?
    • This is normal. Everyone is balancing their worlds during a pandemic. Be sure to give your members grace and assess their needs during this time. Set reachable goals and move your members toward it.
  • Can I spend student group funds during COVID-19?
    • Yes. Please contact your group’s event consultant to access your student group funds.
  • Who oversees SGA Student Group Allocations?
  • How can I check my student group’s funds?
    • Spartan Connect. Log into and open your group’s page. Press “Manage Organization” to access all student group organization tools. Select the finance option and then open your group’s accounts. (Reminder: Only head officers, advisors, and other designated positions have access to this feature).
