Traditions play an important role in developing a sense of community at UNCG. Campus Activities and Programs offers a number of large-scale traditional programming during Rawkin’ Welcome Weeks, Homecoming, and at other times throughout the academic year. Students are encouraged to participate in these free programs throughout their time at UNCG. For more information about these traditional programs, see the information below.

rawkin’ welcome weeks

Rawkin’ Welcome Weeks (RWW) is a great opportunity for students to continue the transition to college life at UNCG and find out what it means to be a Spartan. All RWW events are designed to help you get acclimated to campus by learning about academic support resources, campus programs and services, and most importantly, a chance to meet friends and make new Spartan connections.

homecoming

Homecoming is an opportunity for current UNCG students, UNCG alumni, and UNCG faculty and staff to come together in a blue and gold celebration on campus and in Greensboro! Students are able to attend a mix of UNCG student-only programs as well as mingle with UNCG alumni at a number of programs open to all. Spartan Family Weekend also occurs during Homecoming and families are invited to join in the fun! Current UNCG juniors, seniors, and graduate students can participate in the Homecoming Royal Court Contest as well. Homecoming events will be posted on Spartan Connect!
