The Legislative Branch
ABOUT LEGISLATIVE BRANCH
The Legislative Branch is composed of 9 appointed officers and 38 student leaders elected by the student body each year. Senate is led by the Vice President, and other officers including the Chair Pro-Tempore and several committee chairs.
The Student Senate (updating for 2025-26)consists of 1 academic senator representing each of UNCG’s colleges, and 32 senators each representing their specific class standing or area of representation.
The Legislative Branch works with students, faculty, administration, and various clubs and organizations to adopt formal stances on issues of concern and enact legislation necessary to promote the general welfare of the student body.
TUITION AND FEES RECOMMENDATIONS FOR 2025-2026
The SGA Vice President and the Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management co-chair the University Tuition and Fees Committee. This committee is composed of administrators, staff, faculty, and students who then submit recommendations to Chancellor Gilliam. These recommendations are then submitted to the UNCG Board of Trustees to vote and then later to the UNC System Office and the UNC Board of Governors for final approval.
